Carina started to develop her passion for music and Dj’ing early Allot of practice lead to her very firs gig at one of Bergen’s nightclubs when she was only 16 years old, and despite her young age, she continued to get gigs in different clubs in and around Bergen.
In 2004, she was offered a residency in Greece, in one of the biggest nightclubs in Crete. She accepted, and spent her summer playing music for happy clubbers from all over the world.
Summer of 2005 she returned to Greece, and this resulted in more gigs. She started playing weekly at the enormous beach-parties at Starbeach, a well known beach bar that is visited by thousands of clubbers every week. From there on, the next destination was the capitol of Greece, Athens, where she played at several clubs in 2005.
Her gigs in Greece were without a doubt a door opener for her, and she also started to make a name for her in Scandinavia. In 2007, she was encouraged to sign up for MTV Selected, which is Scandinavia’s largest and most prestigious Dj-competition.
In the jury were some of today’s biggest names in the clubbing scene: Steve Angello, Axwell, Eric Prydz, Ozgur Can (SE), Stretch Armstrong (US), and Dj Statik (DK).
She entered the competition, and mixed her way all the way to the grand finale. More than 300 Dj’s entered, and she came in 2.place in total in Scandinavia. She was also the only female Dj to make it in the competition at all.
Carina was favorited by many of the jury members. Axwell proclaimed that her set was so good, that she could play it in Ibiza anytime. Eric Prydz also said that his votes went to her, and he was hoping for her to win the whole thing.
In 2008 MTV called her back for a new round of selected. This year, the jury consisted of names like Stonebridge, Rachel Birchwood, Nils Noa, Olle Abstract and Rune RK.
She went all the way to the top this year also, and for the 2.nd time, she celebrated a spot in the finale, after leaving 700 other Dj’s behind her.
Since 2007, she holds a monthly residency at one of Europe’s largest internet radios, Danceradio GR, which has listeners tuning in from more than 150 countries every day.
Here she plays her music in good company, with Dj’s like John Digweed, John Aquaviva, Benny Benassi and Umek to name a few. Now she will also be featured on a monthly show at the classy end exclusive radio DV.FM.
DV.FM is run by internationally acclaimed Discovelopment.com, who also has massive names like Louie Vega and Bob Sinclar on their rooster.
Carina is also working in the studio. She just produced a remix for Steve Angello – Tivoli, for his Size records competition, and another remix of Abe Duque – What happened, together with Eddie Da Bass & Ralph Myerz, and more productions will come in 2009.
